Lauren Brandon got out of the water with Britain’s Lucy Charles and the two put five minutes on the great Daniela Ryf during the bike ride. Eventually Ryf caught and passed them, but Charles was able to hang on and take second. Lauren dropped all the way to 26th place. Don’t be surprised to see the swim and bike play out this year the same way as it did last year, but Lauren is ready to run much faster this time around.
