Lauren Parker was on stage with Mike Reilly and me here in 2015 when she took second in the 25-29 division. She went pro in 2016 and was training for Ironman Australia in 2017 when both tires went flat at the same time, sending her into a guardrail and leaving her paralyzed from the waist down. Not one to give up on the love of her sport, Lauren Parker took a Para Triathlon bronze medal in the Commonwealth Games last April, which was less than one year from the day she was paralyzed. In September she took another bronze at the ITU World Para Triathlon Championships on the Gold Coast of Australia. Quitting has never been an option for Lauren Parker!
