Lucy Charles took charge of this race last year from her very first swim stroke and built a five minute lead on the bike to the great Daniela Ryf and forced Ryf to go deeper than she might have wanted to make up that margin in the last 40K of the bike. Lucy held on to finish second in her debut at the age of 24 and it looks like this year the game plan will be exactly the same. The big question: Can she build a big enough lead in the bike to hold off Daniela Ryf in the marathon?
